MICROCON 2026 invites abstracts for oral and poster presentations to showcase original research in the field of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in the following categories:

- Molecular Diagnostics

Instructions for Abstract Submission for Free Oral/ Poster Presentations
- Abstract submission deadline: 31st August 2026. No abstracts will be accepted after this date.
- One person can submit upto 2 abstracts out of which, one can be an IAMM Awards category abstract and one from the Oral / Poster category.
- It is MANDATORY for presenting author to be registered for MICROCON 2026.
- Please note that by submitting the abstract you consent to the fact that your abstract may be published in IJMM.
- The application requires the presenting author to submit their MICROCON 2026 registration number received on their email.
- The abstracts must be original work of the presenting author and should not have been published at any conference proceedings/ journal before.
- All abstract submissions have to be made only in online mode in the box provided at the end of the page.
- Mention the category and the preference of Oral/ Poster presentation.
- Confirmatory email will be sent after submission. Confirmatory mail does not mean acceptance.
- Abstracts will be reviewed by the MICROCON 2026 scientific committee and the committee holds the right to accept/reject or to consider an abstract either for oral or poster presentation. The decision of the MICROCON 2026 Scientific committee shall be final.
- Abstract acceptance will be sent later after the scientific committee has approved the abstract for presentation.
- Certificates will be given ONLY to the Presenting Author.
- Submit the name, institutional affiliation and contact information of the presenting as well as the co-authors.
- Please ensure the email address and mobile number of the presenting author is correct, as this will be the only method of communication regarding acceptance.
- Abstracts once submitted cannot be edited.
- Follow the prescribed proforma for submitting abstracts. No separate attachment or pdf files will be accepted.
- The presenting author must be IAMM Life Member/Associate IAMM member.
Preparing Abstract:
- Prepare your abstract in word format using Times New Roman, then copy paste in the box provided.
- No graphics, images or tables should be used in the abstract.
- The abstract should not have any details of institute/author affiliation for impartial review.
- Word Limit: 300 words for the abstract body (excluding the title)
- Title: Must be written in CAPITAL & BOLD letters using Times New Roman font of size 14.
- Abstract body: Use lowercase in Times New Roman font of size 12. Abstract should be written in following headings:
- Introduction: Indicate the purpose and objective of the research, the research hypothesis or/and a description of the problem being analysed or evaluated.
- Material & Methods: Describe the study period, setting and location, study design, study population, data collection and methods of analysis used.
- Results: Summarize any specific results, outcomes and key findings clearly.
- Conclusion: Explain the significance of your findings and/or outcomes of the stud, and future implications of the results.

Guidelines for Nomination Submission for IAMM Prize Categories
- Any IAMM member is eligible to contest for these prizes.
- Abstracts must be submitted in the prescribed format.
- Presenting author must have a valid IAMM membership number.
- It is MANDATORY to send the soft copy of the Paper to IAMM Secretary’s office also. Nominations MUST also be sent as a soft copy to Secretary IAMM by email on secretary.iamm@gmail.com.

IAMM Award Categories
Dr KB Sharma Memorial Junior Best Paper Award 2026
- The contestant should be a member of IAMM.
- Age of the contestant should be less than 35 years of age as on Aug 31, 2026 (Proof of age should be attached)
- Presenting author MUST be the principle author of the paper.
- Same paper should NOT have received any other award or be published in any other award or be published in any journal and should be so certified, as assigned declaration by the contestant.
- The above-mentioned declarations with certificate showing the proof of age should be attached and a soft copy of the full paper complete with tables, figures, etc. (prepared according to the format of the IJMM) should reach the IAMM Secretary's office on or before 31st July 2026.
Prof AN Chakrabarthy memorial Prize for the best published paper in Mycobacteriology 2025
- Any IAMM member, who has published a paper in the field of Mycobacteriology during the preceding year i.e. 2024-25, in any National/ International journal will be eligible to submit paper for the award.
- The paper should not have received any other award and a declaration to that effect should be submitted while applying for the award.
- The above-mentioned declarations and soft copies of the full paper should reach the IAMM Secretary's office on or before 31st July 2026.
